New single keyword extraction script

We first came up with an idea for this script because of an existing problem in one of our client’s accounts when we took over. We found out that they had accumulated significant waste on their search queries, mostly on single-word queries. We then created a script that will easily highlight single (and also 2-word) queries from all their search reports to use for exclusion.

Why is it so important to track single-word queries?

Single-word queries like “Coffee” or “Shirt” are usually high in volume and rank the lowest in intent. Because of this, they can cause a lot of ad budget waste in your account if you continually bid for them over time.

We can now download your search terms report for the last 6 months or even 6 years and paste it into our sheet that will quickly identify single queries, flagging them for potential exclusion. By excluding single-word queries at either exact or broad match, you can save a substantial amount of money each month, and improve the quality of traffic your campaigns attract, ultimately boosting your return on investment.

New Google Search Console Report Page

Understanding the performance of your organic keyword and landing page rankings is vital for a comprehensive view of your online presence. To provide you with even more valuable insights, we’ve added a new Google Search Console Report Page this month to your existing wonderful report suite.

For example, an average position of 60 for your organic keyword or landing page indicates they are on page 6, signaling the need for optimization. Additionally, we’ve formatted it with a red color scale to quickly highlight low SEO scores.

This report page delves into the intricacies of your organic search performance, giving you a clear view of the organic keywords and landing pages that are driving traffic to your website. By understanding these metrics, you can refine your SEO strategy and ensure your site ranks higher in relevant search results.

In summary, our Google Search Console Report Page is a valuable addition to your reporting suite, helping you make data-driven decisions to enhance your online presence and organic search visibility.
